    Dear Support,

    I want to put two buttons in my header (like the buttons you have on this site, in the top right corner)
    How do I get those buttons in the header? Do I have to import widgets?

    I want a login button and a signup button.

    Thanks
    Belinda

    Hello Belinda,

    I am afraid this can only be done with some CSS coding. The theme doesn’t have a feature to set buttons.

    Dimitar

    Hi Dimitar,

    Can you please tell me the CSS coding to add these buttons to the header?
    It seems to be a heavily guarded secret!
    I’ve literally spent the last three weeks trying to get two buttons in my header 🙁

    Can you please give me the CSS coding or direct me to one of the Althemist tutorials that will have it?

    I used an Althemist tutorial to create my own endpoint using the child theme, it’s easy when I have clear instructions.
    I just need to know the code for these buttons and and where to put it.

    Can you please tell me?

    Thanks
    Belinda

    Hello Belinda,

    It’s definitely not a secret.

    You just need to know the menu item’s automatically assigned class first – e.g. menu-item-4159. You can check the class using the code inspector.

    Than just style the link as per your needs. In our case here it is as follows:

    #main-menu ul.menu > li.menu-item-4159 {
        float: right;
    }
    #main-menu ul.menu > li.menu-item-4159 a {
        padding: 0px 25px !Important;
    }
    #main-menu ul.menu > li.menu-item-4159:before {
        position: absolute;
        top: 18px;
        bottom: 17px;
        left: 8px;
        right: 8px;
        border-radius: 3em;
        display: block;
        content: " ";
        border: 2px solid #dddddd;
    }

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Dimitar

    Thanks Dimitar 🙂

    Ok, two questions.

    1. What is the code inspector and how do I use it to check for the menu item’s auto assigned class? I don’t remember seeing that in “Theme Options”

    2. Also, do I put this code (above) into the child theme’s style.css file?

    Thanks
    Belinda

    Hi Dimitar,

    I’ve tried this and it doesn’t work. I really wish there was a clear step by step tutorial on this. It was easy to set up an endpoint using a tutorial, but I’m still unable to put buttons in the header.

    The only way I have found I can put button sin the header is to use Elementor Kit. But that takes over the header and it removes the options I already selected, for exmaple, the top bar, the store notice, the colours.

    I will have to choose another theme that has the buttons in the header, or at least proper instructions on how to do it.
    I really can’t waste any more time doing such a simple task.

    Thank you
    Belinda

    Thanks Dimitar,

    Do I put that in the style.css file in he child theme?
    When I go in there, I have this;

    /*
    Theme Name: Rigid Child
    Theme URI: https://rigid.althemist.com/
    Description: Rigid theme by theAlThemist – <br/> Modern E-commerce WordPress / WooCommerce theme<br/> Other themes by us.
    Version: 1.0.0
    Template: rigid
    Author: theAlThemist
    Author URI: https://www.althemist.com
    License: Envato / Themeforest Split Licence
    License URI: https://themeforest.net/licenses/standard
    Text Domain: rigid
    */
    I put that code on the end but it didn’t work. I must be misunderstanding something.
    Do I need to put that code here? Do I need start and end tags?

    Thanks
    Belinda

    Hello Belinda,

    Actually, what I gave you is a step-by-step tutorial.

    However, in order to customize themes and make them do what they can’t do by default would require at least some coding knowledge and experience.

    Yes, you’d need to place the code in the child-theme’s style.css IF using the child-theme. Otherwise, you can place in the Appearance > Customzie > Additional CSS field.

    The “code inspector” is a browser module, available in ANY browser by pressing F12. You can also start it with a right-click on a page element and than “inspect element” in the context menu.

    Of course the code would not work if you just pasted it as it is. As I already explained, you’d need to get the menu item class and replace it in the code I gave you.

    Dimitar,

    1. Your response was not a step by step tutorial. You also refer to a code inspector, and a step by step tutorial would explain what that is and where to get it, for example.
    2. People do not need coding experience to do code, all that is required is a clear step by step tutorial. I am a corporate account with 20 years experience. I am very intelligent, and accounting is much like coding. It’s just a different language. Your theme was advertised as being fully customisable. No coding required. That’s not the case.
    3. I already did all of that, using the info from your response, the knowledge I’ve already gained, and simple common sense. I cut and paste then changed the menu class as you advised. I was simply being brief in my explanation. I was curious to know if I needed to add any start and end tags, or something like that, because it didn’t work.
    4. I have disabled Rigid, installed a free theme, and I got a LOGIN and SIGN UP button in my header in around 20 minutes. It’s done. Rigid was actually blocking me from doing it.
    5. The theme was advertised as being fully customisable. It’s not. Particularly the WooCommerce My Account. Even with the paid WooCommerce add-in it still doesn’t edit everything, and that clears all the rigid settings. Also, your theme advertised we did not need to download any paid plugins, or do any coding, and that’s exactly what I’ve had to do.
    6. This has caused me so much stress it has given me anxiety and consumed my life for 3 weeks. It could have been so simple and it wasn’t. Even this coding you gave me for the button didn’t work, and I don’t know why. I can’t launch a website without a login and signup button. So I’ve had no choice but to delete Rigid. And now, I have my buttons that’ve been driving me crazy for almost a month now. Problem solved. And, I did it with coding. See, a person doesn’t need experience.
    7. I would like a refund please. I cannot afford to waste money. I’m trying to create a new income for myself after losing my job because of COVID. I cannot afford to pay for something that does not do everything it was advertised to do.

    All the best in the future, and thankyou for your time. Please process my refund without delay.

    Thank you
    Belinda

    Hello Belinda,

    1. While we are always trying to help, no matter what the problem is, even when it’s not covered by the support policy, I am afraid we are not a WordPress tutorials company.
    Working with WordPress themes and customizing them would require a certain level of knowledge and experience.

    3. What’s included with our support?

    Support covers getting setup, using features and fixing general bugs/issues with our themes up to the WordPress, Plugins & Browsers versions stated in the product page. If you require help for issues that are not within this scope, such as on how to use default WordPress functionality then we’d likely redirect you to external articles or support forums instead.

    We only cover support for our themes and plugins, and cannot give general WordPress support that isn’t related to the specific functionality of our themes. For general WordPress questions and problems, you will have to use http://www.wordpress.org/support

    We truly understand that there is a fine line between what is considered support & modifications. So whilst we will try help you with any type of query (support or modification), we cannot provide extensive help in terms of modifications. Technical support and bug fixing will always take priority over modification support!

    We cannot provide support for code customization or 3rd party plugins. If you need help with customization of your site/theme then you should enlist the help of a developer.

    2. If you do believe, people do not need coding experience in order to create and use code, may be we are coming from different planets. However, as I already explained, we are not in the tutorials business and we already help beyond the scope of the support policy.

    3. I gave you the same exact code we use here on our own website, so if it doesn’t work, most probably you did something wrong. No, there is no need to put start and end tags

    4. Good to hear that

    5. Yes, the theme is fully customizable and works exactly as advertised. If you buy a Ferrari they can change the seats leather, but they can’t add you a truck bed behind the seats. We don’t know what “the paid WooCommerce add-in”, but it’s definitely not needed for the theme to run properly and as advertised. The theme still DO NOT require the use of any paid plugin IF what you see in the demos is good enough for you!

    6. Once again – good to you! May be you can even develop a better WordPress/WooCommerce theme next weekend, as it’s just like a different language. A good business idea in this tough times.

    7. I am afraid you don’t have a valid reason for refund, so we are going to decline your request. The Rigid theme works exactly as advertised and it can do a lot more than 99% of the themes on the market. Also, we offered help beyond the official support policy. I am afraid there is no theme in the world that can do everything you can imagine.

    Best regards,
    Dimitar
