ParticipantAfter the update I received the following:
Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet. How can I fix that?

KeymasterHi marounhashem,
Sounds like you have used the wrong file for the update. Exactly how did you update the theme?

KeymasterIn the Envato Market plugin, or somewhere else?
Looks like not all new files were copied. I’d suggest trying to manually update the latest theme files via FTP.

ParticipantIn the Envato Market plugin. I will re-link the theme child manually. for some reason, functions.php remained untouched in the update while the content of the CSS was erased.
Site is not live yet – but how can I avoid this to happen in the future?
and is there a change log for the update to see if everything is working like it should?

KeymasterCan’t really tell, as this is something really unusual. Never happened before. Could be a temporary drop in the connection between your site and the Envato API or Envato servers. To be completely honest, I’d always prefer the manual update via FTP (Download the files and unzip on your computer. Next, navigate to the theme folder on your server via FTP client like FileZilla /wp-content/themes/zass/ and delete everything INSIDE the folder – not the folder itself. Then just upload the new theme files. When it’s ready, check under Appearance > Install Plugins page of your admin if there are updates for the theme plugins.
Also, please note that you should never update the child theme! There are never changes in the child theme and if you update it, you may lose your custom changes.
