KeymasterHello gp,
you just need to click on the demo image on the left side of the “Theme Options > Import Demo” tab.

ParticipantThank you Dimitar, I need the actual files to upload manually because the file is too large for my server settings. Since I am on a shared hosting plan, it does not allow me the ability to increase it any further. I’ve already maxed out the PHP settings and the files are still too large. I am getting a “gateway timed out” message after several minutes each time I try. Please advise on how I can obtain the demo import files. Thank you kindly.

KeymasterHello gp,
Our demo can not be imported manually. “Gateway timeout” is not related to the file size. It’s the PHP timeout setting that needs to be increased. You’d probably need to contact your hosting support for assistance.
BTW, if you can see some of the demo images imported to your media library, you may just need to run the import several times until all of them are downloaded from the wordpress.com servers. It happens sometimes on limited hosting environments and that helps.
Do you see the error instantly when you click on the demo import button or it takes some time before the error appear?

ParticipantThank you Dimitar for your explanation.
Yes, I am working with my hosting provider. They have maxed out all possible settings for my plan and it is still not successful.
Regarding your question, it takes some time before the error appears. When I check the media folder in wordpress, I see some photos downloaded in there. I will keep trying to click “demo import” multiple times to see if there is any success or progress.
Any other advice you can offer? I may need to ask for a refund I am not able to get this to work, as my hosting plan is a higher tier shared hosting plan and I have been able to import many other themes without issues.
Thanks again for your help so far!

ParticipantDear Dimitar,
I have noticed that after trying multiple times, the full demo has been imported successfully. Please share with development team to possibly update the documentation to offer the advice you just shared with me, that for some users, it may take a few tries.
Thanks again for all your help. 🙂

KeymasterHi gp,
I am glad everything is finally OK.
Actually, the information is already available in the demo import page (Theme Options > Demo Import). There are some instructions explaining just this for lower tier hostings.
