ParticipantHello,
I have two branch locations in my store setup, each one serving a separate city. When I type an address in checkout, lafka automatically locates the address on the map but the branch location field remains empty. See the attached screenshot.
If I place an order with an empty branch location field, the order is not assigned to a branch in the backoffice and the store manager won’t see it.In addition, when I type an address in the popup, lafka automatically assigns the address with the branch location that serves this area.
How can I solve that issue?

ParticipantHi,
Do you need other details from me?July 25, 2022 at 6:04 pm #34495Alex
KeymasterHi,
Please check if the “Closable Popup” is selected. This allows the users to close the popup and enter the site in case you want customers to have this option, to bypass the branch selection and allow customers to enter the site.
The option is located in: Lafka Shipping Settings -> Branch Locations -> Closable PopupRegards,

ParticipantHi,
The “Closable Popup” is selected.
I want the users to be able to look at the menu without their address field being mandatory.I think that the current lafka logic has issues:
Issue 1
Let’s say that a user enters an address in the address popup and later during checkout modifies its address field or edits the pin from the map (There is a message that prompts the user to do so if the pin is not accurate).
In that case, the selected branch remains in the initial option that was given from the popup.
So the selected branch may not serve the user’s new address.
In addition, the order will be only visible to a store manager that cannot serve this area.Issue 2
Let’s say that a user closes the address popup and completes address fields only during checkout.
The order will not be assigned to any of the branches, so none of the store managers will receive this order.
In addition, this order might be in a place outside of lafka shipping areas and we won’t serve this customer.Thank you

KeymasterHi,
I see what you mean.
About issue 1:
This can be controlled with setting the shipping methods to use the same areas as the branch. If the customer pinpoints to location outside of the areas, then its address can’t be served by selected branch and he can choose another branch. You can choose where to show the “select location/ branch selection” box from “Branch Locations” -> Show Branches Info Box inAbout issue 2:
That’s why the you can turn off this option and not allow customers to enter the site without selecting branch. “Branch Locations” -> Closable Popup. If you want the users to be able to enter and not be able to order until they select branch, then you need to limit your shipping methods to their particular branches. From shipping method edit, branch field. Here is some more info on how shipping methods work in WooCommerce in general: https://woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-shipping-zones/
Hope this helps.
