ParticipantHello! I have som question about the filtering system for products.
When im in a category/product page, lets say ’’Home & Living’’, i want to have some filtering system like filter terms, color, checkbox layouts, select box, prices and more.
What i can see i only have like a standard search option ’’Refine Products’’, that i guess comes with the theme as standard? And under that i have a filter system only for price and options of what i want to filter it for, lets say ’’Lowest Price’’ or ’’Top rated products’’.
1. How do i get more options/filter to choose from, do i need a extra plugin for this, and if so, what plugins do you recommend?
Ive tried with the attributes as i guess how its supposed to be? But it doesnt happen much, no colors show even though they tell me to choose a color etc…And how do i get the filtering system on the left or right side on the site? I dont really want it to be at the top of the page, if its possible.2. Some of the words in that filtering system have been translated to Swedish, but not everything, like ’’Refine Products’’. Can i change the language myself or do i also need a plugin for this? And if so, wich plugin do you recommend for this theme?
Ive heard about something called multilingual plugins that will fix this for you, but im not really sure how it works and if it will work? Since im not wanna buy them and waste money if they dont work.
Best Regards Alleduff

KeymasterHello alleduff,
In order to use filters for attributes with colors, labels and images, you’d need to use our custom “Rigid Product Filters” widget and not the default WooCommerce widgets. You can see what it looks like here:
https://rigid.althemist.com/shop/?refine_area_state=opened
You can also place the filters in a standard sidebar.

KeymasterHello Alleduff,
You just need to enable the sidebar for WooCommerce under Theme Options > Sidebars and then insert the widgets in that sidebar under Appearance > Widgets. Just like any other sidebar.
In order to translate all strings to your language you’d need to translate the theme and the theme plugin (Rigid plugin). The best way to do this will be the Loco Translate plugin:

KeymasterYou can place the filter widgets in the shop sidebar instead of the “filters area”. You can also place there the default woocommerce price filter and completely disable the “Refine Products” area in Theme Options > Shop tab.
However, you can’t move the Sort and Limit selectors, as they are part of the default WooCommerce functionality. They can only be displayed above the product list.

ParticipantHi ALthemist,
I already commented in another thread before but this here is more specific. I have actually the same problems like the user above and cannot solve it:
1) Translation issues: Refine Products etc is all in English but we need in in German: Loco translate is installed and I search all files, like Rigid Plugin, Woocommerce, WCMP etc but “Refine Products” is not to be found to be translated nowhere. Where are the files located?
2) Filtering issue: I have read that some filters are only for the above part, as shown in your example above (https://rigid.althemist.com/shop/?refine_area_state=opened) but we dont even get simple filterig working:
2.1) How do we get these color, size, brand etc attributes into the top filter “refine products” like in your example?
2.2) How can we add vendor specific filters such as search, word-cloud, attributes etc which apply only for this shop into the sidebar (we already created a custom sidebar)I have provided you with a vendor account in my next reply marked as private, please have a look
