ParticipantHello
I have chosen the second theme Home Boxed –
It has a grey geometric background and I would like to change this to one of our own patterns ?
How do I do this? Also, I want this site for a multi vendor marketplace, which I am already running on another domain.
I purchased it as you said any of the themes will work with the WCFM plugin.
when I added the plugin it took over the site so I was unable to edit the theme, as it was a front end editor – how do I add this plugin so that my designers can just click a link to go to their account page on there own pc?Thanks
Cathy

KeymasterHello Cathy,
1. Assumning you are talking about the page background – when you enter the page edit screen in your WordPress dashboard, there will a section called “Supersized Slider” in the right-hand column. You may change the image there OR completely remove OR even add more images, so they would be used as background slides.
2. Yes, you can use the WCFM (or any other multi-vendor plugin). Not really sure what do you mean by “it took over the site”. You as a site administrator would still have full control on your site and theme options, just like before installing the plugin. Your designers ( I guess you ara talking about your “vendors” ) would have access to their vendor dashboard once they are registered and approved. This is not theme related.
In order to do this, you’d need to setup your plugin options first – e.g. create vendor registration page, vendor dashboard page etc.
Unfortunately, as WCFM (and all other multi-vendor plugins) is a third-party plugin and not theme related, we can’t provide much help or teach you how to use it. There are tons of tutorials on how things work and what you need to do in order to have your marketplace up and running. In the case of WCFM, there is a video tutorials channel on YouTube:

Hope this helps.

ParticipantHi Althemist,
As a multi vendor marketplace I am going to use the WCFM marketplace plugin with your site which you said will work fine.
But I also need to set up a my account for buyers/clients to be able to see past purchases and digital downloads etc?
What plugin do you recommend to do this?
Also I will need a client registration form which when the buyers/clients register – I have to approve them before they can log into their account dashboard.
What plugin would work with your theme?
Thanks for your help,
Cathy
PS I DID SERCH THROUGH THE TOPICS FIRST TO SEE IF ANYONE HAD ASKED THIS QUESTION AND NOTHING CAME UP SO REPLIED TO YOU VIA MY LAST TOPIC!

KeymasterHello catagrat54,
1. You don’t need a separate plugin for that. It’s a core WooCommerce feature. You can see the “My account” icon in the header here (yes, our website is running on the Rigid theme too). As you can see it has “Orders”, “Downloads”, “Account details” sections etc. It would be the same on your own website.
Just check this link:
2. I am afraid you can’t approve/disapprove buyers. This is not theme related. It’s how WooCommerce work. You can only approve/disapprove sellers/vendors.

ParticipantHi Althemist,
Can you let me know if this RIGID THEME is compatible with EAST DIGTAL DOWNLOADS – FRONT END SUBBMISSION MULTI VCENDOR MARKET PLACE PLUGINS?
Also how do I edit the join our club mail box on the home box home page?
I was trying to build the site using your theme and WCFM but I am not able to migrate EDD VENDORS TO THIS SITE?
OR IS THERE A WAY?Thanks
Cathy

KeymasterHello Cathy,
1. As our colleague explained in the ThemeForest comments area, we never really tried EDD, but there is really no reason for incompatibilities. Basically, it should work fine with any properly built WordPress theme.
2. The join our club box is just a subscribe form of the MailChimp 4 WP plugin. You can edit the form in the plugin settings.
3. I am afraid that’s not theme related. I am not even sure if it’s technically possible to migrate existing EDD vendors to the WCFM. You’d probably need to consult with the EDD and WCFM support teams.

ParticipantHello Alchemist,
I’m trying to find out how vendors log in to their previous account they had on our old site – I have transferred them over and have set up their account, but I don’t know when they log into there account and set up their new shop on my new RIGID website theme?
Also, Where do they log into their account to add new designs/ products.
As we are just selling digital designs, for now, is it worth setting up WCFM for the designers to load prints from the front end?
Thanks

ParticipantHello,
I have set up a dummy account as a shop vendor, but when I log into it on my iPad it says I have not been set up as a vendor?
Please advise what I am doing wrong?
Thanksa

KeymasterHello Cathy,
I am afraid we can’t help with integration of your old existing accounts to a new system. As we already explained earlier, you’d probably need to ask the two different multi-vendor plugins support teams if such migration is possible. This is totally non theme related.
Where your user log in depends on your settings. Basically, all multi-vendor plugins allow vendors to login via the default WooCommerce login form.
As for user not being set up as a vendor – may be you’d need to approve the new vendor account. That’s again not theme related. It only depends on your plugin settings.

KeymasterHello Cathy,
Sorry for the late reply. As you have already noticed we are working remotely under quarantine, as our entire team is positive for Covid-19.
I have already explained that this is not theme related. Those products are either not in the right category OR they would probably need to be manually approved, as this is the default functionality of all multi-vendor plugins.
