Hello, I’ve downloaded the two language files:
– lafka-plugin.pot
– lafka.pot

And I’ve translated them using the software Poedit, which then compiles .po and .mo translation files.

I’ve translated a theme before, in this way, I just needed to rename the translated files by adding the language code and they worked.
However, I did not manage to find anything regarding translation in Lafka’s documentation.
Using Loco Translate is not an option at this point, as I can’t find a way to import a translation and I won’t be able to meet my deadline if I begin the whole translation all over again.
I have the two translated files and I want to apply them in a way so that they don’t get deleted upon updating the theme.

The language is Bulgarian. I’m writing this in English so others can also benefit from this post 🙂
How should the files be named and where do I need to put them so they don’t get deleted while updating?

Sorry for the late reply.

It is highly not recommended to alter the original pot files. I’d strongly suggest using Loco Translate. Editing the pot files and generating new po and mo files may lead to encoding problems and also the entire pot structure must be synced again, because of the WPML compatibility. Editing the pot files would change the lines order and make the new po and mo files useless.

Also, note that there are a lot of strings in the theme’s plugin too (Lafka plugin).
