    Hi again,

We have our Shop page as the homepage so we can display the menu when the user hits the website. The location pickup/delivery popup automatically pops up which was mandatory before the user could view the menu. However, we have received customer complaints on this – so we have enabled “Show close button on the popup with order details form.” in Woocommerce > Settings > Lafka Shipping Settings > Delivery/Pickup Time, so the customer can close the popup without selecting Delivery or Pickup.

The problem is, when they get to the checkout page, the popup doesn’t show and there is no validation for the user to selcet Pickup or Delivery. And, the delivery date and time defaults to Delivery and the user has no idea what order type they chose. The order goes through without an order type or branch selected. So the shop has to call the customer.

Is this something that can be fixed / improved in the next version? Ideally there would be a persistent Delivery / Pickup option on the pages.

    Thank you!

    Hi skylerdesign,

I am afraid this can’t be avoided. It’s either mandatory to check the address before the user can add products to cart or not. The option to disable the popup was meant for stores which serve entire areas (e.g. cities), so there is no need to check before allowing users to add products to cart.

    Thanks for your response.

Even in the entire city area scenario you describe, the order type / branch location will not get set if the user doesn’t specifically choose “Select location” on the checkout page. I feel like there should be some kind of validation before checkout to ensure branch and order type are selected, i.e. the popup without close option shows up again if these aren’t set. I hope you consider this as a future enhancement as it’s a big issue for our customers and kitchen.

    Thank you!!

As I already explained, the only way to use the address validation correctly is to have the popup non closable. Also, make sure you set your delivery area to the specific branch, so users can’t change it to unsupported address after the initial check.
