ParticipantHello,
I recently lunched a restaurant website using your theme and I came across some difficulties. Website address is magic-pizza.ro
1. My Pizza category and pizza products have much higher load times compared to other categories or products and I can’t figure out why.
2. Can you give me some tips on better optimisation. I am using Wp Super Cache as I read you are using it too in your demos, but I don’t see much increased speed. I have test WP Fastest Cache which was significantly faster but it is not compatible with Lafka Hours and restaurant appears closed at random hours.June 4, 2020 at 3:58 pm #23370Althemist
KeymasterHello Cle,
The problem is that some your pizza products have an extreme amount of variations and attributes – e.g. the Magic pizza alone have 20+ variations, so the product meta database is pretty large. The reason WP Fastest cache is better is because it is using an object cache. You can use this plugin, just make sure you put the order hours in the exlusion list.
Other than that, your site is pretty fast considering the number of requests and the fact it static resources (JS, CSS) are not optimized:

On all our sites and demos we use combination of WP Super Cache and Autoptimize which also helps a lot.

ParticipantThank you for your quick reply. I know I have a lot of variations on these products, did not realise it would make such an impact.
I tried combining Autoptimize with WP Super Cache but now product images do not display in Safari browser. Tried to disable it, or both of them but still no fix. Have you encountered this before?June 5, 2020 at 11:26 am #23423Althemist
KeymasterHello Cle,
Make sure you have these added to the JS optimization exclude list of the Autoptimize settings:
wp-includes/js/dist/, wp-includes/js/tinymce/, js/jquery/jquery.js, maps.google.com/maps/api/js, map
Also, if using jetpack or other similar plugin, make sure you’re not using it’s lazy load features. The theme itself is using lazy load for image and you can also use the Autoptimize lazy load, but not the JetPack lazy load.

KeymasterAlso, if using the Autoptimize lazy load, exclude these in the settings:
attachment-medium, avatar-150

ParticipantHello,
I have added the js exclude list and disabled from Jetpack and Autoptimize and refreshed the cache but product images in Safari still don’t show up. I have no clue what to do next.

KeymasterCould you, please tell us your OS and Safari versions? Everything seems fine with your product images on iPad Safari, both in product listings and single product page.

ParticipantHello,
Using MacOS 10.15.4 Catalina. On iPhone it is fine, only on desktop safari it seams to be the problem.
Thanks

KeymasterHi Cle,
So sorry about the delay. We had some major technical difficulties in the office this week.
Could you, please give us temporary admin access to your site?

ParticipantHI Althemist
could you please share:
– Name & Plan of your Web Hosting
– Few screenshots of your WP Fastest cache settings (LIKE HOW TO “put the order hours in the exclusion list.”)
I think it should be useful for all
