    Hi there,

    Hope you are well.
I just wanted to get in touch as I am in the process of getting my site live and moved over to new hosting company Eukhost to help improve the speed of my site.

Rather than improve the speed of my site I have since encountered a fair few issues (with the site crashing) and they have advised that their is a problem with the PHP Size. They said the normal PHP size of a website is usually between 156MB-256MB and my site requires a 1GB limit. This according to them is coming from the theme and its associated plugins. Mainly the rev slider.

They have sent me the below PHP http://allhighstreets.com/info.php

They have advised me to come to you on this and that you will be able to advise on how to resolve this.
Is this a theme related issue?

    Thank you,
    Sameena

    Hello Sameena,

So sorry for the late reply.

I am afraid I don’t understand. There is no such thing as “php size”.

If you give us temporary admin access to your site, we may try to investigate the problem.

    Regards,
    Dimitar

    Hi Dimitar,

So pleased to have you back online and hope you and the team are all fully recovered from COVID.

I am not sure what it meant either. Is there an email address I can use to give you temp access?
    Thanks,
    Sameena

You can do it here. Just don’t forget to mark the “set as private reply” checkbox.

    Hello Sameena,

We have just checked your website. Everything seems fine to me. Can’t find PHP related problem. I still don’t understand the meaning of “normal PHP size of a website”. Did they explain something else?

As for the optimization, I can see you already started with some basic optimization and you site runs relatively good, considering the amount of data on the home page, but there are still a lot of things that can be done. We do offer full site performance optimization and the price would be $149/site. However, if we do this for you, part of our recommendations would be to re-think the front page concept/content.

    Dimitar

    Hi Dimitar,

I am not sure what they meant by the PHP issue, I am not sure if they were being entirely truthful with me on the site speed. It has since transpired that they had set a limit on the amount of memory that I am allowed to load the site and I did remove the slider which was causing the issue.
What would I need to change on the homepage as part of the optimization?
I feel as though I would be in safe hands with you on the site optimization as it is your theme and you are best placed to advise on what would work with this.

    Thank you,
    Sameena

    Hi Sameena,

Once again sorry for the delays. We are now back to normal schedule.

What I’d suggest is reducing the number of products on the home page and also use similar layouts for the editors picks and latest products. Also, having the featured products in the menu is not best approach.

Also, the latest posts content element wasn’t meant to be used like that (on a home page with pagination). I’d suggest using the standard latest posts with up to 3-4 posts total. Otherwise it generates a lot of requests slowing down your site.

BTW, even now your site loads pretty well. It takes less than 3 seconds from Europe and even if tehre are still some things to be optimized, the final result would be just slightly better. You can’t expect drastic changes as it’s already fast.

You can see here there is just a minor difference between your home page and ours (our site is running on Rigid theme too). You can expect 0.2-0.3 seconds faster loading and a bit better stats, but that’s all:
