if i want to remove sections from the home page, ie the 3 boxes above the Handpicked for you section

i know i can do this with wpbakery

but when theres an update to the theme, will these changes get over written, if so, what templates do i need to move into the child theme

Hello micp,

When you are editing a page through the WP Bakery plugin you are modifying the content of the page only and it is stored in the database. And when you are updating the theme, you are actually replacing some of the files in the theme. So the content stored in the database is no directly impacted.

So theme updates will no affect your data. And it won’t be overridden. What will be overridden are any changes you made in the theme files itself (PHP, js code), which is not the usual thing you do when working with your WordPress.
