ParticipantHello,
I’m installing the theme Lafka on a demo site at https://simplewebdesign.net/HappyBitesDemo/ — once this site is done then we’ll move it and replace the current site.
The issue is that to import data on the demo website it requires me to activate using the license. Will I need to purchase another license once the site moves to http://www.happybites.com?
Thank you,
Sam

KeymasterHello Sam,
There is no need to “activate” the theme in order to import the demo data. We allow the use of the theme on up to 3 WP installations (local development, staging and production site). We do this automatically, so you don’t need to enter your license key for that.

ParticipantHello,
On the installation page for Lafka theme — it says the below
1.3) IMPORTING THE THEME DEMO DATA
Importing the theme demo data is as easy as clicking on a single button. Navigate to your WordPress Admin area > Appearance>Theme Options > Import Demo tab and click the button on the left side. Keep in mind that in order to use the demo import feature, you’d need to activate your theme license.Should I still go ahead and activate the license?
I tried to use the import feature but it times out so i’m wondering if it’s related to the license not being activated.
I can provide the credentials if needed.
Thank you,
Sam

KeymasterHello Sam,
This was the initial licensing method we used in the beginning. It was later replaced with automated verification, so you don’t need to activate anything.
Looks like we forgot to remove that text from the theme documentation.
Sorry about the confusion. It’s clearly a mistake on our end.
If the import times out that means the timeout parameter on your hosting is set too low. You may need to run the import several times until the message says “All done, the page wijl reload”.
However, in order to guarantee the smooth operation of the website, it’s highly recommended to increase the max_execution_time parameter to at least 60. Depending on the hosting you use, you may need to ask their support for assistance.
Here are all the recommended hosting parameters
max_execution_time 60 memory_limit 128M post_max_size 32M upload_max_filesize 32M
Hope this helps.
